Origins
We trace our roots to the mountainous regions of northern Vietnam and Laos, where our ancestors established distinct communities along the Black River. Known for our unique script and intricate weaving, the Tai Dam—or 'Black Tai'—people have maintained a resilient cultural identity through centuries of migration and change.
Our history is defined by a deep connection to the land and a communal spirit that transcends modern borders. From the ancient principalities of Sip Song Chau Tai to our present-day global diaspora, we continue to preserve the language, traditions, and stories that have been passed down through generations.

We honor our roots through rituals that bridge the gap between past and present, ensuring the spiritual presence of ancestors remains a guiding light in our daily lives.
The Tai Viet script is more than a writing system; it is a repository of our collective memory, preserving oral histories and the distinct phonetics of our people.
Our society is built upon the foundation of mutual aid and communal unity, where every individual plays a vital role in the preservation of the collective village fabric.
